A Root fan-faction of friendly mushroom people.

As the Toadstool Commune, you seek to spread friendship across the Woodland. Your goal is to expand into as many clearings as possible, while also encouraging your enemies to join you in a merry chorus of camaraderie and interconnection. You score points based on the number of connected clearings with both Toadstool pieces and enemy pieces, building harmonious coexistence.

You lend a helping hand to other factions by helping them in place their pieces on the map. It's all very altruistic, and it also increases your own scoring potential. The presence of your spores in clearings is a sedating miasma, calming all that go near it and making it challenging for everyone to engage in battles. After all in this utopian vision of the Woodland, conflict is best resolved through mutual understanding.

To further your cause, you compost your fallen warriors as a versatile resource in the Underground Network of mycelium, enabling you to take many different actions. But your resourcefulness doesn't end there, since you reuse the fallen, decomposing warriors of other factions to make use of them in the same way. In the Toadstool Commune, no sacrifice goes to waste.
